ABOUT ME AS A WRITER
This quote speaks to me because of the humor and because it matches my mindset regarding writing and editing. I take pride in finding the best way to say something, which is one reason why I am pursuing a career in technical communication and editing.
My love of writing goes back as long as I can remember. I excelled in my English and writing courses, taking every advanced or upper-level course I could in high school and college. During that time, I wrote everything from reviews to manuals, essays to fanfiction, and proposals to memos. On top of my writing, I also have a passion for editing, revising, and overall improving a document’s clarity and usability. Mostly though, I like to help people sound their best in their writing.
As a writer, I have spent over five years writing as a blogger and Amazon reviewer along with numerous projects, including a how-to manual for the Girl Scouts of Citrus Council and a manual for the University of Central Florida Writing Center. In addition, I have spent seven years working as an editor for authors, fanfiction writers, and Wikipedia.
In this portfolio, I have included the projects that most reflect my passion and my wide variety of skills as a writer and editor. To view them, simply follow the links under Technical Writing, Editing, or Creative Endeavors.
